Norman Cottington - Managing Director
Norman has dealt with personal injury claims for 40 years as both claimant and defendant rep-resentative including 25 years as an insurance company Claims Manager.
He has served as :-
Chairman Of Lloyds Claims Managers.
A member of the MIB Adjudication Committee.
Chairman of the Disability Assessment Unit.
A member of the Association of British Insurers Motor Conference.
He has been responsible for a number of market initiatives including the UK's first structured settlement (Kelly-v-Dawes) but his greatest achievement has been to gain market acceptance of the benefits of rehabilitation in personal injury claims, not only to the victim but also for the practitioners involved.
His concept of assessing a victim's immediate needs and taking the resultant report outside of the litigation process resulted in the publication of the Early Assessment Agreement that was later to be adopted as the Rehabilitation Code.
It was Norman that first introduced regulated case management in the form of the Case Management Society to the United Kingdom having first identified the benefits of this discipline in the United States of America. CMSUK provides Case Managers with their own professional body and their own regulated standards of practice.
Norman currently serves as President of BICMA (Bodily Injury Claims Management Association) as a member of the IUA/ABI Rehabilitation Working Party and as a Founder Director of the Case Management Society UK.
Normans hobbies include boating and playing golf.
