Pain Management

It has been our experience in recent years that there is greater frequency of medico-legal consultants recommending either a referral to a Pain Management Consultant or in some cases to a Multi-Disciplinary Pain Management Team. These services are not generally available quickly through the normal NHS channels and therefore we would be happy to source appropriate treatment through our TICCS Case Management team.

It should be borne in mind that it will generally always be necessary for the client to be assessed by the appropriate Consultant or Multi-Disciplinary Team before any treatment can take place. We therefore recommend that we firstly source and cost up the assessment before proceeding, as these costs vary from clinic to clinic. Once the assessment has taken place, you will provided with a treatment plan and costings relating to that treatment plan in order that these can be considered before authority is given for the treatment to go ahead.

The main purpose of all of this is for the treating Consultant to ensure that they agree with the recommendations of a medico-legal expert before they proceed. This same procedure would be followed for something as simple as a recommended pain killing injection.
