Immediate Needs Assessment
TICCS have now conducted in excess of twelve hundred Immediate Needs Assessments in accordance with the principles laid down by The Rehabilitation Code.
An Immediate Needs Assessment (INA) is a means of identifying, the injured party’s medical, social and occupational needs following an accident. All our assessments are carried out by our own trained Case Manager’s.
The assessment can take place at the clients home, whilst they are in hospital or over the telephone, depending on the clients individual situation at the time of instruction.
The Case Manager will seek information relating to the following
headings when undertaking her assessment (which will not involve a
physical examination) and in conclusion will make any appropriate
recommendations for treatment or intervention:-
- nature and extent of injuries sustained;
- how this affects the client;
- progress since injuries were sustained;
- the extent of any treatment provided or which is planned;
- the names of any treating healthcare professionals;
- details of the home environment and social support;
- the extent of the clients mobility;
- the nature of the clients work and post accident situation;
- the clients financial situation;
- the extent of any psychological issues;
Our Case Managers will always investigate the availability of any proposed treatment through the normal NHS/Social Services provision, however, in the event that such treatment is not available in a timely fashion, alternate costings will invariably be provided for utilising the private sector.
TICCS prefer to act in accordance with The Rehabilitation Code to ensure the client is the central focus, hence, joint agreement of the parties is encouraged and providing joint agreement is in place, copies of any reports will be despatched to both parties simultaneously.
As part of our service to both Insurers & Solicitors alike, one of our management team (who have extensive personal injury claims experience) would be happy to speak to the opposing party to enlist their agreement for us to undertake an Immediate Needs Assessment.
In the event that an Insurer is reluctant to participate in the process, but has been given the opportunity, sole instruction can be considered.
